According to, there is a delay in revealing the new designs due to a breakdown in relations between the club and Nike. Barcelona's president Joan Laporta has heavily criticised the company in recent months.

WHAT LAPORTA SAID
Speaking to Catalan radio, Laporta said: “The relationship is not ideal. Nike is not fulfilling the terms of the contract. They’ve not replenished our stocks, as scheduled."
He went on to say the club had 'shown their teeth' to Nike and could threaten to either work with a new supplier or create their own kits.

THE EXPLANATION
Last year, the kit for the 2023-24 season was released on June 20 and featured heavy marketing with superstars such as Roberto Lewandowski and Alexia Putellas. However, the strip for the upcoming season is yet to be revealed due to the comments made by Laporta. The current deal between Barcelona and Nike, which stretches back to the 1990s, is set to run until 2028, but has now been cast into doubt due to his comments.

WHAT NEXT FOR BARCELONA?
Nike representatives have been seen in Barcelona meeting with Laporta to try and resolve the issues. However, it did not go to plan and he has since claimed the club could cancel the contract early.
“We’ve told Nike that, due to flagrant breaches, we will end the contract,” he said on his podcast.
